Judge Mathis to Make Videogame, Warns Against Street Life

JudgeMathis(c) Now, I’ve never watched Judge Mathis.  Word on the street is that the popular TV judge is an avid gamer and former gang member.  AllHipHop.com is now reporting that he’s looking to combine these two off-screen personas in the new game, Mathis “Detroit” Street Judge.

M.D.S.J. will follow fictional felon La-Ron Washington in a GTA-like romp through the streets of Detroit.  He’s got two strikes on his head, and if he doesn’t clear his name after a suspicious murder, the titular judge will lock him up with a life sentence.

As ridiculous as this sounds, it gets better/worse.  Mathis wants his title to give “players the option of changing the character’s lifestyle by performing community service, and shunning illegal activities.”  Okay, so instead of pizza delivery minigames, you’ll play Meals on Wheels minigames.

Mathis also plans on having the justice system factor heavily in the game.  Said Mathis, “When you go to prison, you gain credibility when you come back on the streets. On the other hand, when you go to prison you can also be raped. So take your chances.”

Here’s that last part again: “When you go to prison you can also be raped.”

There you have it, folks.  Mathis pulls no punches.  Keep your eyes on this one.
