marginalia 8.5.09

comic2-04 A pre-historic look at the rise of casual gaming.

Eurogamer: The first twenty-one Xbox 360 Games on Demand.

Joystiq: Upcoming changes to (the PC version of) Team Fortress 2 are apparently so drastic that they merit a closed beta. Valve, this kind of support is why people are so upset about the Left 4 Dead 2 thing.

Destructoid: Says Blur developer Bizarre Creations, the racing game genre has stagnated and is in desperate need of Something New, which Blur apparently hopes to deliver. If they can make me have as much fun as I did when I first started playing Burnout, I’ll be impressed.

Joystiq: Another title born on the hi-def consoles is coming to the Wii in the form of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. How feasible is this, really?

Gamasutra: Not everyone is going to try cramming all their games down our throats in November-December this year, at least if EA’s John Riccitiello is to be believed.
