Telltale Games, the modern heir to LucasArts’ adventure game empire, announced to Game Informer that they’ve acquired the rights to develop episodic games based on the immensely popular Jurassic Park franchise.
Cue excited T-Rex roar.
I’m currently working my way through Telltale’s third Sam & Max season and enjoying it quite a bit (review in the pipe). I do wonder, however, how they’ll bring their particular storytelling talents to bear on Crichton’s classic world.
Telltale owes much of their success to the tongue-in-cheek humor they’ve inherited from popular entries in adventure game canon. Unless they plan on making episodes centered around Dr. Ian Malcolm, I don’t know how much humor they can squeeze out of dino carnage. Jurassic Park: Trespasser may already have them beat.
