It's boring and it hurts my eyes.

Interesting that you use Disney as a template, since Pixar makes some of the most entertaining, emotional, and artistically valid kids' movies in theaters these days, and they only rarely dip into the sequel well (and I like to think that they only do it with Toy Story for sentimental reasons, since it was their first).

Of course, my understanding is that Disney doesn't have a ton of say in day-to-day operations at Pixar.

The same sequel-itis is rampant in games, and it's exacerbated by the fact that game publishers are fighting for larger amounts of money ($60) and time (games, depending on their genre, can take from ten to thirty hours to finish on average) from fewer individuals (only console owners can game, where anyone with eyes, money and transportation can see a movie). A game that doesn't make a profit can mean the end of a company, so maximizing profit often outweighs other considerations.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on how...

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on how who gets final cut fits into this topic.

Am I the only one who thought the original Tron wa...

Am I the only one who thought the original Tron wasn't very good to begin with?
